'Project Runway': And then there were . . . four?
Despite how much I've complained about her, at the beginning of Wednesday night's episode of "Project Runway" I realized that I didn't want Kenley Collins to leave because I loved watching her hate Leanne and vice versa. What a great little bratty catfight between the two of them. I don't think that Leanne "sabotaged" Kenley in the last challenge, but better yet, if she did I wouldn't care. And I didn't feel the tiniest bit sorry for Kenley when she revealed the big reason for her obnoxiousness was that she was RAISED ON A BOAT. It was official: I loved to hate her.
But not so much that I wanted to watch an essentially pointless episode of "Project Runway." It was fun for the drama of watching Kenley (and everyone) cry and hit new heights of rudeness, but other than that, the episode was a disappointment. The "go and take a picture of something that inspires you" challenge has appeared a few times before on this show, and the results were disappointing. Korto Momolu's dress did look like a pageant dress, Leanne Marshall's was of a Miss Piggy-ish lavender color, Jerell Scott's colors didn't seem to quite work and Kenley, well, she didn't WANT her dress to look nice, so well done to her. The act of throwing all four contestants into a preliminary Bryant Park week just creates a bigger finale. It wasn't because the designers were all so good, so it feels a little cheap.
Jerell won the episode, however, for having the best lines, like "There's such a thin line between luxury and low-class," and the way he faced Kenley on the catwalk. Plus, I'm pretty sure he was dressed in a pirate's costume by the end of the episode.
Whether you agree, disagree or just want to talk about how tiny Heidi Klum's leopard-print dress was, make sure to stop by here Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Pacific time to chat all things "Project Runway" with me!

I love to hate Kenley, but, I'm seriously ready for the season to end. It's not a joyous sport, but, depressing seeing the judges bend over backwards to accommodate her, strictly for the sake of drama. If anyone else constructed that creepy dress and had such a fresh mouth, they would have been cut without remorse. Because the producers know she is the most loathsome villain on tv, they kept her for the last round. And that's the only reason. For that reason, alone, I am tired of Project Runway. It's lost it's credibility. It's a reality show, but, it's also staged. For the sake of entertainment, they fraudulently misled viewers and crushed the ambitions of other designers who were sent home to keep the bratty girl's place.

Worst year ever. In case you're late to the party, you can already see all the PR collections shown at Bryant Park (it already happened). Look under "NY Spring RTW 2009 Women" at: http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/

I'm trying to figure out why the last SIX where able to show their line at Fashion Week (includes oust's Joe and Suede). Does that mean the last four are showing the same line or do they have a completely seperate line for the finale? Doesn't seem fair.

Six contestants showed. However, only 3 are actually competing for the top prize. The other 3 collections are considered 'decoy' collections since the contestants were still on the show at the time of Bryant Park.
