FX’s ‘Sons of Anarchy’ rides to Season 2

FX has picked up a 13-episode second season of its rookie biker drama ‘Sons of Anarchy.’

The series premiered to a 1.2 network rating/3 share among adults 18 to 49 -- up significantly from FX’s last series premiere, ‘Damages.’

‘It’s incredibly gratifying to everyone at FX in at this time when ‘The Shield’ -- the show that got our critically acclaimed original programming brand started -- is airing its final season, their loyal audience has embraced ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and made it a success,’ said network president-general manager John Landgraf.

‘Anarchy’ revolves around a gang of outlaw motorcycle bikers, running and protecting the fictional small town of Charming, Calif. Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman star.

New episodes air at 10 Wednesdays.
