Elisabeth Hasselbeck to campaign with Sarah Palin
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the staunchly conservative panelist on ABC’s daytime talk show “The View,” will introduce Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin at two rallies this weekend in Florida.
“I am more than honored to be there, so I will be flying there to travel with her and meet some pretty interesting people, I have a feeling,” Hasselbeck said on the program today. “That’s an honor, I’m excited to do it, and I’ll have some stories I’m sure on Monday.”
"Take some pictures," responded co-host Joy Behar. "I want to see her wardrobe."
In recent weeks, Hasselbeck has sparred with her fellow “View” co-hosts about the presidential race, vociferously defending Sen. John McCain and his campaign tactics. The exchanges have grown increasingly heated, particularly between Hasselbeck and Behar. On Wednesday, Hasselbeck asked Behar if she wanted “some more Barack Obama Kool-Aid.”
The intense on-air arguments have sparked speculation that Hasselbeck was considering leaving the program, a notion that has been squashed by her representatives.
"Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations," her agent, Babette Perry, said earlier this month.

The McCain apparently thinks this is a beauty pageant. They'll certainly win on the issue of which ticket promises to surround itself with the most attractive ladies. Too bad McCain does not surround himself with those more strategically, intellectually, and policy inclined This Republican ticket is a joke.

I would love to see the bloggers who bash Palin's competence, run a state with 23,000 employees, create a surplus budget, negotiate a 40 Billion dollar gas pipeline, earn the most popular governor in America rating, raise 5 children, and run for Vice President of the United States ... And, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, is the only member of the View with the character and honesty to speak the truth, even if it requires the courage to swim against the current. Compare Palin's track record to Obama's. Obama hasn't really done anything, except pursue a career of running for office ... and, he's on top of the ticket !!!

While I support the ideas of Elisabeth on "the View", I believe Sarah Palin has hurt McCain with her extreme right wing views.
I consider myself an independent democrat who is leaning towards McCain for many reasons, leading the list is our national security. While Palin may have helped gather those in the slim ultra right group, she disappoints those of us who are more in the middle. This is a far bigger mass of voters for whom it is more important to show a bit of compromise in areas such as a women's right to choose, if even just for rape and to save the life of the mother.

why haven't the press asked obama how much he spent on his wardrobe....or what about his wife????
Posted by: monique | October 23, 2008 at 01:45 PM
why hasn't the press scrutinized the spending habits of obama and his wife???
Posted by: monique | October 23, 2008 at 01:47 PM
Really?! She has help for the 5 children, the gas pipeline isn't a done deal, governs a state with a smaller population than almost all major American cities, and who couldn't deal with a budget from Alaska when you get that many earmarks and tax the oil companies for the oil under their feet.
Is she really a better choice than Mitt Romney? If you talk experience you have to stop right there because he's conservative and has experience in business and running a state. That is why everyone should question McCain's choice.

I am from New Zealand and I am following the election with great interest, can anyone please tell me why Hilary Clinton was voted out? I think she would have made a great president with her husbands support, wow what a team they would have made. She is intelligent, young enough quite good looking,a lawyer and has been first lady so she would be 100% qualified.Could someone please explain that to me? I am from New Zealand and a lot of people ask the same question.same question.

It certainly appears that Hasselbeck's career ambition is to be as divisive a person as she possibly can be. Personally I find the inability to come to the center of any issue as a form of mental illness! Hasselbeck rattles on memorized talking points which become embarrashing without any real ability to discuss something rationally. Life must get lonely after a while when you side with only the elite!

Oh Elisabeth you are such a MORON,I think you just stick by your view just for the heck of it regardless of wether you believe in it or not.I think you just go along with your idiotic comments and arguments because you seem to enjoy the contoversy and publicity it creats and in your delusional head you think you come across as inteligent. You come across as a possessed mindless person with not an ounce of common sense .Don't get me wrong, every body has the right to his or hers own oppinion and conviction but to see every thing either black or white is ignorant and quite dangerous. In your opinion you are always right, people who don't agree with you are always wrong. Can you really not see the damage the bush administration has done to your country? Do you really want some more of this?It is time for a change.Time to grow up girl

m Rosie O’Donnell commented earlier this month regarding Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sarah Palin where she called them identical cousins who hunt in high heels, we have made some pink shirts to help promote the campaign with women voters. You can see our shirt at:

To the New Zealander:
Hillary Clinton did not win the nomination because of all the baggage she brings with her from her husband's disgusting antics in the oval office. Remember, he was impeached. I think he ruined her chances of being President. Frankly, I don't know who is worse: Obama or Hillary, however I would rather have had Hillary win the nomination. Either way, though, I'm voting for McCain.

Monique, people haven't been talking about Obama's wardrobe because he (and Biden) pays for it out of pocket, not using the campaign's money. Same with Michelle Obama. There was actually some press about Michelle Obama's wardrobe, turns out one of the dresses she wore at the Dem Convention or some other such big event, cost about $150... and again, it was paid for out of their own money.. They certainly didn't spend $150,000 in campaign money to buy clothes for themselves and their kids...

Well now it's decided. Hasselback and Palin in 2012!
I'll be glad when they are answers to a Trivial Pursuit question. Or even better, contestants on Dancing with Stars. With the recent success of Chloris Leachman, heck, even John McCain might have a shot.

Between Hasselbeck and Palin, I'm not sure who is the bigger bimbo..........I just watched a news clip of Hasselbeck speaking at a Palin "rally", it was too embarassing to even watch just the clip, let alone her whole speech, thank goodness I missed it. The Republican candidates are full of pathetic statements, over the top gestures like finger wagging, etc., reminds me of high school, no wait, elementary school yard bullies. Keep up the great work Obama/Biden!!!!

I think Hillary would have been the best choice and would have made a grest president.Bill was very much loved by every one including the rest of the world.Ok,he made bad choices with his affair ( but nobody is without fault )but it doesn't change the fact that he was a great peaceful president. No harm came to the american people while he was in charge. And NO WARS.I really think Hillary should have been given a chance.Intelllgent, appealing, married to an ex president, senator, lawyer, youngish, good looking and classy, what more can I say.I hope she gets another chance next time.In the meantime I wish you Americans all the best what ever the outcome.God bless tou all.

I was uncertain who to vote for until McCain chose Palin. It doesn't take much investigating to realize that Palin would set women's rights back 40-50 years! She clearly doesn't understand the issues as evidenced by her interviews with Gibson and Couric; doesn't understand how humans have influenced global warming (she tried to get funding for a project by supporting a report that states polar bears are abundant and flourishing - of course the report was written by scientists who had accepted money from exxon); wants to reverse Roe vs. Wade (let's kill even more women/girls trying to get illegal abortions); can't make a decision without her husband (workers in the Alaska Capital building joked about making buttons that read "What would Todd do?"); tried to ban books (when a librarian told Palin that she did not believe in banning books, Palin tried to fire her); and has violated ethics laws not only in the "Troopergate" issue, but is under investigation for trying to use her position as Governor to influence the outcome of an election.
My mom feels the media is being too hard on her...I say she needs to shut up and quit giving the media ammunition to use. She has been McCain's attack dog, and it has hurt their campaign! She needs to go home and be a mother - her kids could certainly use some guidance!
