Elisabeth Hasselbeck: 'I'm not leaving 'The View' '

View290_2 Elisabeth Hasselbeck this morning addressed rumors that she was leaving "The View" for Fox News.

"I am not going anywhere," she told her co-hosts when asked directly if she was staying.

Rumors to the contrary began circulating last month as the morning show's "Hot Topics" segment brought about increasingly heated arguments between the right-leaning Hasselbeck and the other women over this year's presidential election. (Two weeks ago, however, both Hasselbeck's agent Babette Perry and ABC refuted talk of her leaving.)

Hasselbeck herself addressed the gossip in the first 15 minutes of Friday's show -- and slammed Fox News' Ann Coulter at the same time.

During a discussion about a study saying blonds in fact do have more fun, Joy Behar interjected the idea that all Republicans are blonds and predicted that if Sen. John McCain won the election, his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, would also go blond.

"If they win, she'll be blond, believe me. And if she loses, she'll be blond and have a job on Fox TV because they're all blond over there ... Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Elisabeth Hasselbeck."

At which point Hasselbeck cut in: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, please don't put me in the same sentence as Ann Coulter, thank you very much."

Whoopi Goldberg then asked Hasselbeck directly to clear things up: "Are you going anywhere?"

"I'm not going anywhere -- except to get my highlights fixed. I mean look, I love Fox, I'm staying here," she said while being hugged by co-host Sherri Shepherd. "I am not leaving 'The View.' I certainly love my ladies here. I am not going anywhere."

As if to prove the point that the co-hosts can spar and still get along, Behar said she had gone to see the soon-to-be-released Oliver Stone film, "W.," calling it "an indictment against George W. Bush."

"It's fabulous," Behar said. "And it's incredible how close George Bush and Sarah Palin are. Just sayin'.'"

"Oh, God. Can we please talk about this before I puke?" Hasselbeck started.

Goldberg instead threw to commercial.

If McCain-Palin loses, she can go right back to being the most popular governor in the US and will probably be back in 2012 and would look horrible as a blonde.

I'm REALLY interested for someone to do a background story on where Hasselback come's from. Is she from the south? Where did she go to school? How did she get this job on "The View?" I'm serious. Does anyone know about this ladies past? I just want to know WHY she thinks the way she does. Surely she isn't a graduate of an Ivy League school. Does she hunt Moose as well?

Darn. I wish she would leave and go to Fox already.

JUST DONT WE WISH...I watch the View UNTIL Hasslehead starts talking and I turn if off...not that I can't tolerate her opinion...its her shrill, rapid-fire, whiny, semantic debating, shrill, interrupter, whoa, whoa, whoa, shrieking I can't stand. Somebody get her a personal coach.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, can spar with the best of them, I am always in her corner when she goes at it with Joy. Joy has always been outspoken and I may not agree with a lot of her comments, she does come off the wall. She has been so insensed with Obama that I want to Puke! And I agee with Elisabeth the man hasn't accomplished ANYTHING! I still can't understand how he got away from going to jail on all his parking tickets..He got a sweet deal $300 bucks! If that was me I would have had to stand before a judge and pay fines and penalties for 20+ tickets would have cost me thousands! And he only took care of it while he was getting ready to run for office. You know he got away with it Joy...I regret this country is going down the toilet with abortion & same sex marriages so be prepared for things to happen, you call it, floods, hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes sooner or later it will get your attention..Then What?

Hmmm... This talk of Palin being "the most popular governor in the U.S." strikes me as misleading. Is the fact that the population of Alaska is just 100,000 more than the population of Oklahoma City getting lost somewhere? Is the fact that Alaska has a male population that far outnumbers it's female population getting lost as well?

When people claim that she is the "most popular" do they not realize that this is because it is easier to be popular when you're dealing with less people (this is NOT popularity among the *entire* populace of the United States after all, but only the people living in her state). It is also easier to be popular among those few people living in your state if you are pretty eye candy of the opposite sex and the male population in your state have a hard time finding mates.

In essence, if I govern an island with 5 people on it and they all like me because I wink at them, and all the other governors are governing millions of people who are divided about whether they like them or not, that would make me the most popular governor in all the land. But I still am only popular with 5 people.

God, I wish Americans were taught to think.

hasselsbeck is from rhode island, she is half italian and she went to boston college where she was a member of the girls championship softball team

She was a contestent on Survivor: the Australian Outback, back in 2001. THAT is her claim to fame!

This show has become the far left, I am a moderate, and I feel that far left is wrong, far right is wrong. Let common sense prevail and get rid of Behar, she makes no sense.

I wish she would leave the show. She is not good for the view.
Her attitude is horrible.

Joy should change her name to Hate. I do not find her humor funny at all. And why doesn't the view even things up a little to be fair. You have one conservative fighting with a show full of lefty liberal dingbats. Throw another one into the mix, and see how the group dynamic changes.

The other thing that gets me, is that if that show was all conservatives, and lets say Joy was the only liberal, that woman would have been crying on every episode. Elizabeth takes the abuse, but she certainly dishes it right back, and I love her for it.

I don't watch The View because I have a job, but I'm curious. Elisabeth Hasselbeck sounds quite young. How old is she .... 13........14? Her views and level of maturity sound as though she needs to spend several more years in the world before she can be taken seriously.

I am mystified. Why is it that liberals are allowed to air their views and opinions openly and loudly on tv, but when someone other than liberals do it, they should be thrown off the show? Isn't this country about dialogue? Can't people disagree and talk about their disagreement? If Hasselbeck is a little less polished in her opinions, I'm just glad we can hear it uncensored. I can't imagine how boring the View would be with a bunch of ladies agreeing with each other 100% of the time.

She won 4th place in the Australian survivor show. What does that have to do with America. White folks can come from anywhere and get anything they want in this country. She's a loser . All you have to be is white in America and everything is so much more easier for them. You have people here who won 1st place and don't get co-host positions on major Tv shows. She has no talent herself so she can surely identify with Palin.

Elisabeth, will you help Palin write her concession speech?

@MIMI I so agree, i don't get what's the draw? she looks cross-eyed and not the cutest, UGH, i wish she'd leave, i wanted to pimp slap her when they got into election conversations, this b**** should go to alaska and be Palin's personal secretary since she jocks her so hard!!

Frankly if Mrs. Hasselbeck says 'I THINK" one more time I am going to drive to NY and hand her a damn Reference book to find other word to use!

I WISH SHE WOULD JUST LEAVE. SHE IS SO RUDE TO EVERYONE, EVEN HER BOSS. SHE TRULY THINKS SHE KNOWS MORE ABOUT EVERYTHING THEN THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT. WHEN SHE OPENS HER MOUTH I PERSONALLY WANT TO SHUT IT FOR HER. I BELIEVE SHE IS VERY BIAS. SHE ''"HATES" THE FACT THAT OBAMA WON. GET OVER IT POOHTONA. ONE DAY THIS ALL WILL COME BACK ON U AND I PRAY TO GOD I AM STILL HERE TO SEE IT.

WHY DOESNT SHE GET HER WANDERING EYE FIXED

I wish they would all shut up. None of them know the first iota about politics. They are Hollywood/New York entertainers and sit around a table drinkiing coffee and yelling at each other about a subject that is as far from their knowledge as the transplant of the human brain. Anybody who listens to them to get their take on the politics of our country needs that brain transplant. So for God's sake go ahead and make an appointment with them to get it.
