CNN, Univision and NBC all score interviews with Sarah Palin

October 21, 2008 | 11:25 am

Is Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin starting to warm up to the media elite?

After doling out just a few select interviews in her first month on the campaign trail, the Republican vice presidential nominee is granting a slew of sit-downs to national television networks this week, including several outlets that until now have not had access to her.

Today, Palin is speaking with CNN correspondent Drew Griffin during a campaign stop in Reno. Their 15-minute conversation will air repeatedly during this afternoon’s edition of “The Situation Room,” beginning at 1 p.m.

Then she’ll pop up on Univision this evening for her first interview with a Spanish-language network. Anchor Jorge Ramos spoke with the GOP candidate about her views on immigration, Latin American leaders and NAFTA, among other topics. The segment will run on the network’s 6:30 p.m. newscast, “Noticiero Univision,” with an extended version on the 10 p.m. news magazine “Aqui y Ahora.”

And tomorrow Palin will make her first appearance on NBC News when she and Sen. John McCain speak with anchor Brian Williams. The two-part interview will air Wednesday and Thursday on “NBC Nightly News.”

The back-to-back sit-downs come after a period in which the McCain campaign curtailed access to the vice presidential candidate. Before this week, she had spoken to just a few network anchors: ABC's Charles Gibson, Fox News' Sean Hannity and CBS' Katie Couric. Her meandering and vague answers to Couric were widely mocked. But recently, Palin has stepped up her interviews with local reporters and begun answering questions from the press corps accompanying her on the campaign trail.

I saw her in an scripted interview last night regarding Relgion - she might want to explain what she is doing practicing witchcraft in the you tube video. She acts like we are stupid everyone has seen this video. Are we ever going to get an answer on this. I am just curious - what was she doing there?

She really is out of touch with reality. I can understand how Alaska overlooks this, but the rest of the world is not that stupid.

Sarah Palin - John McCain's new legacy

Why should we all care what would she say?
She never said truth or something interesting and sensible.
Why should Nation care about this Idiot palling around with idiots on bus tour, selling a book, she did not write and they would not read?

Media pays too much attention to this Idiot.
Are we in a Year Of Idiot?
