Reginald Hudlin to leave BET
Reginald Hudlin, president of Entertainment for Black Entertainment Television, is leaving the cable network. Hudlin, who oversaw much of the programming over the last three years in his plan to overcome what some felt were degrading and offensive African American images, made the decision to leave, network officials said.
Hudlin’s announced departure comes on the heels of critical acclaim that greeted the network’s new comedy “Somebodies,” which premiered Tuesday as the first scripted series in BET’s 29-year history.
It was not immediately announced when Hudlin would leave the network. Stephen Hill, BET’s executive vice president of programming and talent, will serve as interim entertainment chief.

Thank God!!!!
BET has been a pariah of the African American Community for a decade now. It has fallen so far from the days of Donnie Simpson and Sherrie Carter....when it had quality and mature programming. I don't know how much this will change things, but hopefully it's a step in the right direction.
