'90210': The latest on Brenda and Kelly

September 11, 2008 |  5:26 pm

News about '90210' is spreading faster than gossip in West Beverly High's halls. Earlier this week, executive producer Gabe Sachs hinted there was a strong likelihood Shannen Doherty would extend her four-episode run as Brenda. Then Doherty herself seemed to put the kibosh on that idea. Now it seems the CW is still holding out hope that the reformed troublemaker will reappear later in the season. According to a '90210' spokesperson: "Although nothing is official with Shannen yet, we've always made it clear that we'd love for [her] to come back for more. There's definitely a possibility she'll be back."

Working out a deal with Doherty would seem to be a smart idea. Ratings for Tuesday's episode -- one in which she did not appear -- took a tumble, drawing just 3.3 million viewers compared to '90210's' 4.7 million debut the week before.

Regardless, one other 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum will most certainly be sticking around: Jennie Garth, a.k.a. single mom/beleaguered daughter Kelly Taylor, has officially signed on for five more episodes, bringing her total tally to 11. Guess that means lil sis Silver (Jessica Stroup) won't have to go back to sleeping at the women's shelter any time soon.

The new 90120 rated high because Brenda and Kelly is in there. If they leave, the rating will be low. I LOVE Brenda, I think she such a great actress!!!!! I WANT MORE OF HER! PLEASE SIGN HER IN AS A FULL TIMER! MAKE her an offer that she will not refuse.

When she left the old 90120, i stop watching it. When she left "charms", i too stop watching it. I think she's the cost of the high rating!!!
