During a conference call with the media after her ouster, So You Think You Can Dancecontestant Chelsie Hightower chatted about her favorite costumes, her mounting exhaustion and her faithful fans. Here are quick bites from the convo.

Lessons learned

“Just doing your best at all times no matter what kind of shape you’re in physically. That was the big thing for us because we were always so tired and so worn out.”

Favorite costumes

“I really like the Argentine Tango, the purple dress that I wore. I don’t know; the wedding dress was kind of fun and kind of hard to dance in at the same time. Probably those two.”

Any regrets?

“You know, I can’t control the public. So I’m very happy with myself, and that’s the most I could ask for, so I’m feeling fine right now. I’m feeling great.”

What’s next?

“Just whatever. I mean, I just want to be dancing on the stage. I honestly don’t know yet, so we’ll just wait and see.”

Elimination-night jitters

“We all kind of prepare for whatever happens. Our producer always tells us that you never know what the American public is going to decide, so we’re all kind of prepared, and I was actually, I had this peaceful strong feeling that I would be going home and I was OK with it.”

Chelsie’s fans buoyed her spirits

“I had my MySpace up and all the little comments and all the little messages that people would send to me and their support and their love, and those kinds of things would help me throughout the hard times and keep me positive.

The point of it all

“I’m just so glad that I got to share what I love to do with everyone and that everyone got to see my talent, because that’s what I’m here for. That’s what I believe I’ve been blessed with so I can share that, so I’m just grateful for all of them for watching and appreciating it.”
