'Gossip Girl': Socialite Tinsley Mortimer makes a cameo in Season 2

I'm sure you've read the news that actress Madchen Amick will be appearing as an older woman after Nate's heart in Season 2's first few episodes on "Gossip Girl." Now photos from the show's Hamptons set reveal New York socialite and fashion designer Tinsley Mortimer getting ready to shoot a cameo. She and Blake Lively were caught leaving their trailers dressed in white for what looks like a party scene. (P. Diddy's annual white party perhaps?) If you recall, Mortimer got name-checked in an episode last season when Blair noted that Gossip Girl's credibility "is like Tinsley Mortimer's after a few martinis." Stay tuned to see if the socialite will be wielding a few martinis for this cameo.

I cannot for the life of me understand why this paper and it's children want to keep on deifying a second rate New York promotional project on a third rate network like this! It boggles the mind! Who would care about a fifth tier name drop like this one? Who would watch this program- apparently no where near as much as would watch a local phenomenom like "The Hills". Whenever "The Hills" is mentioned in their own paper, it's derogatory! When "Gossip Girl" is... unbelievably it's completely treated like the second coming of Christ! This is kind of like The LA Times devoting all of its energy a few years back toward the Hayden Planetarium when it opened in New York, and there was a week of full page color pictures on the 'local' event. When the Griffith Park, (a more impressive complex) completed its renovation, there wasn't the same attention given! You guys have got to be more a champion of THIS city, and stop spreading yourselves so thin everywhere else. Dammit! And fire Denise! She's asleep at the wheel...
