Randy Jackson says 'America's Best Dance Crew' is 'younger, fresher, edgier' than 'So You Think You Can Dance'

June 19, 2008 |  2:16 pm

Ya think there's too many reality dance shows on TV this summer?

Well, let the battle begin! We heard a (measured) war cry from none other than a king of the reality TV judging triumvirate on "American Idol."

Randy Jackson
has voted, and clearly, MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," premiering at 10 tonight, beats Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" in the all-around dope department. (Yeah, we know, Randy is the MTV show's creative namesake and exec producer, but Randy also has allegiances to the Fox Network execs behind "So You Think You Can Dance." And what might "American Idol" and "So You Think You Can Dance" creator Simon Fuller have to say about this?) Not that Cat Deeley isn't cute, but Mario Lopez has much cuter dimples and sneakers. Am I right, ladies?

Going into tonight's "America's Best Dance Crew" second season premiere, Randy picked two favorites from rehearsals, and they are decidedly West Coast. Randy says Los Angeles' own Fanny Pak and Las Vegas' Super Cr3w are the ones to watch. You heard it here first on Show Tracker!
