Upfronts: CBS picks up 'The Ex List' drama

May 12, 2008 | 10:29 am

CBS has just entered the drama race.

The network has picked up "The Ex List," a drama based on an Israeli show about a woman who tracks down all of her ex-boyfriends after a psychic tells her that she has already met the man she is going to marry. Created by Jonathan Levin ("Charmed"), the show is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The cast includes Rachel Boston, Alexandra Breckenridge,  Elizabeth Reaser, Adam Rothenberg and Amir Talai.

Even if it was a good show, I will not WATCH it or any other CBS show since they have now managed to cut another show that was better than whatever this is. Ya see I was one of those people that bombarded firefly by not watching it (it was a really good show by the way, I bought it on dvd after it tanked because of their choice to kill a good show for it) when it replaced dark angel. So I have no problem doing the same thing again to prove a point.

never watching cbs again!!! dropping Moonlight which was #1 in it's time slot and won the peoples choice award just shows they don't have a clue.

CBS dropping Moonlight is quite a shame. They are obviously trying to copy the success other networks have had (and not had) by taking a foreign show and redoing it. Moonlight pulled solid 8-9 share each week, and it aired on Friday nights. Their main demo doesn't watch TV on Friday's which is one reason Friday Night Lights has suffered on NBC.

I too will not watch this show or any others on CBS because of their cancellation on Moonlight.

Unfortunately I found out to late that 'Moonlight' was dropped. I barely watch any 'regular' tv shows. But 'Moonlight' had caught my interest. Because of 'Moonlight' I watched 'Ghost Whisperer' before it, just because it was on the same station. 'Moonlight' had great charecters and story line. At the end of every show I was thinking, "Wow, what will next week be like?" Against my better judgement I made plans on Friday night that would not interfere with me catching the show. So I guess I can thank CBS now. I will be doing other things instead of watching TV on Friday nights.

I would like to know the truth about the cancellation of Moonlight... It won the People's Choice Award by 93%, had TV Guide's sexiest actor, and won its time slot on the difficult Friday night in spite of little or no promotion.. Each time they talk to Nina Tassler she gives a different reason for the cancellation... The audience was growing each month.. Moonlight was the kind of show that the whole family watched, so does one TV set equal one viewer?? I have girlfriends that would have Moonlight Fridays and take turns going to each others house to watch..The huge Moonlight fan base is at a loss as to what to do next.. No one is listening...I do not care to watch CBS until Moonlight is returned, just too painful..

A lot of time has passed since Moonlight was canceled. I still keep hoping that an intelligent executive will get Moonlight back on the air. PCA winner, won it's time slot and now amassing more fans internationally. Those fans are upset now that they realize the show they have fallen in love with will not be back.

I just learned Moonlight was canceled - what is wrong with the networks anyway? My family and friends enjoyed watching - and on a Friday night - NOT since the "X-Files" were moved
from a Friday night to a Sunday night in the mid-1990's has there been such an uproar!
I keep hoping some intelligence at the network will come to their senses and realize how
many of us love watching a good show on a Friday night.
Come back Mr. "Moonlight"!

Like the folks above, I'm amazed that CBS would cancel Moonlight. The whole business of running lots of new shows up the flagpole to see which ones get a salute seems like a silly waste of money to me. Maybe now that leaner times are upon us, CBS will decide to stick with, and revive, a winner - Moonlight. It would only get better with time, and its audience seems to be growing. It's a grownup take on Twilight, and I like grownup fare. I hope that CBS comes to realize that it needs to start offering what viewers like to watch, and a lot of viewers like to watch Moonlight.

Like the folks above, I'm surprised that CBS would cancel Moonlight. Hopefully, now that times are leaner, CBS will realize the good points about sticking with a winner and will revive Moonlight. It's interesting even for those of us who are not normally vamp or supernatural fans. It just had good acting, good action and characters with good intentions confronting major problems. Good for the current times I'd say.
