'The Hills': With friends like these ...

Audrina may not be the sharpest tool, but does she really need a “friend” like Lauren?

Lauren may get to narrate “The Hills,” but I think I speak for everyone when I say the series has turned on our fair narrator, who has reverted to a sniffling, green-eyed high schooler this season. (In fact, we’re going back to calling her by her high school nickname, LC, from now on.)

So without further ado, an open letter to LC …

LC, It’s time to move on. Heidi has. (And what kind of world are we living in when Heidi is the grown-up one?) We’re over LC vs. Heidi.

How is it fair for you, LC, to befriend Stephanie, sister of your sworn enemy Spencer, who once confronted you in a nightclub in defense of her brother, but Audrina can’t reunite with Heidi? I smell a hypocrite in these hills.

What’s worse, it seems as though everyone else around you is evolving. Heidi is Ms. Female Empowerment. Stephanie, our favorite “Hills” informant, sailed her olive branch over to you while letting Spencer crash in her apartment. Whitney matriculated from Teen Vogue (albeit to more grunt work). Brody got himself a new steady. Spencer’s giving Heidi her space (for the most part). Even Justin -- “It’s time to get my priorities straight” -- Bobby has given up the belching, started showering and has gotten a new ’do.

They all make you rather dull in your 24-hour Heidi hate. Not just dull, but downright bratty. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only viewer who threw her pillow (or, ya know, something) at her TV set when you started moaning -- “Will you kidnap me please?” “Oh my god, I need to leave this table immediately,” -- after Heidi squeezed into your table at Goa.

After Audrina caught up with Justin Bobby on a friend-date, your first question to her was “Did he burp in your face?” Not very friend-like. You followed that up with, of course, “Seems like you and Heidi are friendly again.” Yikes.

And now that Heidi has soiled your pad by hanging with Audrina in it for a few moments last week, you want to move out? Into a house? Oh sure, you say you’re bored by your West Hollywood apartment. And yes, you did get that spanking new job as model-herder for People’s Revolution. (But seriously, Mama and Papa Conrad, you're too kind.)

Why is poor Audrina in your cross hairs? Sure, you asked her to move in with you and Lo, but not before you harped all over her “dirty” boyfriends behind her back and told Lo how much fun it would be to continue doing so when you both are her roommates.

Looks like someone other than Justin Bobby needs to get their priorities straight.

First of all I don't think Lauren ever has to forgive Heidi ... it wasn't just about spencer, doesn't anyone remember that behind laurens back she pushed Jen and Brody together which proves she is not trustworthy and not worthy of a friendship. Also Heidi claims that she and Audrina were friends before Lauren and that they weren't friends because of Lauren which is also not true .. doesn't anyone remember how Heidi hated Audrina because Spencer was going after Audrina, which I would like to add that Audrina handled that one well. I do think Lauren needs to allow her friends more space in the boyfriend department becasue it is ultimately their lives and a true friend supports you even if your boyfriend is a loser. I wish that Heidi would just go away it is so irritating to see someone the plastic and desperate for fame and really Heidi stop singing you suck.

This article is stupid, especially if you've watched the past three seasons of The Hills. The tension with Lauren and Heidi started because Spencer is a shady guy and Lauren knew it. What Lauren didn't know was that Heidi is also a shady person, and the sex tape rumor was only the beginning. When Lauren found out about the rumor and confronted Heidi, she denied everything. Heidi and Spencer went on a smear campaign to radios and magazines around the country calling Lauren a "lowlife" and other classy names. Now tell me, would you want to be friends again with someone like that? Hell to the no!

Audrina is just a stupid, stupid girl. She let Justin Bobby treat her like crap over and over again and basically laugh in her face about it. Lauren saw that he was a shady guy too, but Audrina was just like Heidi and chose the guy over her friend. Heidi's fake act of needing space and Audrina's fake "I'm so over him" crap means that they are both the same type of people. At least Lauren went through a bad relationship and finally got out of it for good. Heidi and Audrina like to keep going back for more drama. Also, what kind of person would be friends with someone who did all of that stuff to Lauren and still hasn't owned up to it? Doesn't she think Heidi is a bad person for doing that? Duh! I wouldn't be friends with someone who did that to one of my best friends! It would probably happen to me someday.

Walk into any bar around your area and you'll find the same kind of things going on. It's funny how many people are criticizing the person for writing this article and criticizing all of the people for making comments on this article.
If the people making these comments don't watch the show...Then what do they care what someone else writes about or what someone else watches on television.
It seems like it's NOT the author or the viewers that need to get a life. It's the people that are making nasty comment need to get a life.
I find my entertainment by watching pseudo-reality television. You have nothing better to do than to try to belittle other people.

Here is the thing, the show is fake. The drama is fake and the fights are fake. We have heard reports that Heidi and Lauren are acutally good friends, but pretend to hate each other for the sake of the show. We have also seen reports where Heidi and Spencer fight in front of the cameras and then hug each other in between takes. THIS WORLD IS FAKE!!! So to place Lauren as the only perpretator of this drama ridden series is complete b*llsh*t. All of these people do their part to make all of the others uncomfortable for the sake of good tv. The way I see the show is the way I would see any drama series, like Gossip Girl, because it is not real!!!! So if you want to rag on Lauren, do so for the rest of them because quite frankly, they all are fake for calling this show a "reality" show. At least Lauren is making all of the drama happen, which makes me tune in because I could care less about Audrina, Heidi, Spencer, Brody, or any of the other characters of the series. The whole premise of the show is to create drama in an uncomfortale setting for the main character, Lauren, and according to the last episode, it was absolutely perfect. So much so, that the LA Times is actually writing an open letter to a fake "real" person letting them know that she needs to grow up. WOW! That must be a great show if the LA Times writer is tuning in and actually writing about it when there is a war currently going in, the economy is heading to a recession, and the government continue to show signs of corruption. So excuse the haters, but Lauren is doing what she needs to be doing in order to make "The Hills" the best "reality" show on tv. Thank you Lauren for giving a great show!

She also doesnt turn on all of her female friends (Lauren, Jen, Audrina, and the girl from Bolthouse). To add insult to injury she started a clothing line that looks like it came straight out of Fredericks of Hollywood. What a great example of women empowerment. I think Lauren fits the role better she is a loyal friend, success single woman, and has dumped every gu that didnt treat her with respect.

I honestly would do the exact same thing Lauren did. i'm friends with her as of a couple of weeks ago (I met her and we went out for lunch a few times) and she is such a sweet girl. I dont think she's being a "highschooler" at all, I that she is actually being mature by knowing what she wants, i.e. who she wants in her life and who she doesnt, and shes not pretending to be friends with people who she doesnt like, which I admire. If you had a friend that spread an unbelievably false rumour about you across america, would you forgive them? Were we seriously watching the same show? Lauren seems tho be the only person on the sow eith any type of backbone. Audina is just a follower. I mature person would have never chosen sides in the first place. If Audrina was real, from the very beginning she would have said to Lauren I understand why you dont like Heidi, but that doesnt have anything to do with me, and I am going to continue to be her friend. I think Lauren can be immature but I think that Heidi is the one who is ALWAYS talking about Lauren... It is so easy for us to say that Lauren should grow up and forgive Heidi. How would you feel if your bestest friend in the world conspired with her scummy boyfriend and made up a horrible lie about you and published it anonymously to the whole world? And didn't Lc say last season that she has forgiven Heidi? Only she chose to forget her. You cannot blame the girl for not wanting to be friends with Heidi, Thats her God given right. The idiot who wrote this article definitely seems like a "Heidi' type....void of principle or morals. Lauren is 21 and for a 21 year old, she is more mature that folks twice her age. Lauren and Audrina probably had a MUCH longer conversation than what they actually aired and I highly doubt the convo started with "Did he burp in your face?"

I do agree that Lauren is very needy, and controlling. But when you have been betrayed by almost everyone in your life EXCEPT Lo, wouldn't you tend to be that way without realizing you are being that way? In my opinion Lauren has been a very faithful friend to almost everyone, and has not received the same in return.

Also, if anyone in this situation should be blamed, it should be Audrina. She lies. She told Lauren she had no desire to be friends with Heidi. While it is her choice whether or not to become friends with Heidi, she should still be honest and stand up for herself and tell Lauren that she is at least being friendly with Heidi. She also said to Lauren that "there will always be soemthing" between her and Justin Bobby but she should have just said I want to give him a chance. (Unless that part was edited out too)
