'The Hills': With friends like these ...

Audrina may not be the sharpest tool, but does she really need a “friend” like Lauren?

Lauren may get to narrate “The Hills,” but I think I speak for everyone when I say the series has turned on our fair narrator, who has reverted to a sniffling, green-eyed high schooler this season. (In fact, we’re going back to calling her by her high school nickname, LC, from now on.)

So without further ado, an open letter to LC …

LC, It’s time to move on. Heidi has. (And what kind of world are we living in when Heidi is the grown-up one?) We’re over LC vs. Heidi.

How is it fair for you, LC, to befriend Stephanie, sister of your sworn enemy Spencer, who once confronted you in a nightclub in defense of her brother, but Audrina can’t reunite with Heidi? I smell a hypocrite in these hills.

What’s worse, it seems as though everyone else around you is evolving. Heidi is Ms. Female Empowerment. Stephanie, our favorite “Hills” informant, sailed her olive branch over to you while letting Spencer crash in her apartment. Whitney matriculated from Teen Vogue (albeit to more grunt work). Brody got himself a new steady. Spencer’s giving Heidi her space (for the most part). Even Justin -- “It’s time to get my priorities straight” -- Bobby has given up the belching, started showering and has gotten a new ’do.

They all make you rather dull in your 24-hour Heidi hate. Not just dull, but downright bratty. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only viewer who threw her pillow (or, ya know, something) at her TV set when you started moaning -- “Will you kidnap me please?” “Oh my god, I need to leave this table immediately,” -- after Heidi squeezed into your table at Goa.

After Audrina caught up with Justin Bobby on a friend-date, your first question to her was “Did he burp in your face?” Not very friend-like. You followed that up with, of course, “Seems like you and Heidi are friendly again.” Yikes.

And now that Heidi has soiled your pad by hanging with Audrina in it for a few moments last week, you want to move out? Into a house? Oh sure, you say you’re bored by your West Hollywood apartment. And yes, you did get that spanking new job as model-herder for People’s Revolution. (But seriously, Mama and Papa Conrad, you're too kind.)

Why is poor Audrina in your cross hairs? Sure, you asked her to move in with you and Lo, but not before you harped all over her “dirty” boyfriends behind her back and told Lo how much fun it would be to continue doing so when you both are her roommates.

Looks like someone other than Justin Bobby needs to get their priorities straight.

Are you serious? Lauren is the one you have a problem with on that childish show?
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Motag are the two most unaware, egotistical people I have ever
observed in my entire life. They ARE entertainment for the mere fact that it is so unbelievable to the rest of the world that two people can really be such fans of themselves.. especially since in reality they do nothing but act like adolescents for a small portion of america and canada to watch and laugh at. Heidi's obvious attempt to try and get Lauren's attention at Goa was pathetic and beyond immature. Lauren was the mature one who chose to get up and walk away. CLEARLY denise miss condrad is the one who is more then over it and heidi mono is the one still trying to gain as much attention as is humanly possible. Heidi moved from Colorado to Hollywood in the hopes of being in the public eye, not for any particular reason just because she loves attention from people. That is why her and Spencer really are the most compatible people in the whole fucking world. Have there ever been two individuals more obsessed with being famous? Or try so painfully hard for that matter? As for Lauren being a little less the nice to Audrina how can ANYONE blame her for that? I applaud Lauren for more ignoring Audrina's stupity and lack of loyalty then anything else. Patridge had said that episode before that she 'had no intentions of being friends' with Heidi.. her own words! I'm sure Lauren is taken aback to say the least that one of her 'close friends' and roommate in now chummy with someone who has shown herself to be such a complete moron and aweful person to Lauren who always tries hard to be a good friend. The face that Lauren is not saying anything about the whole thing and inviting Audrina to live with her in her new house is impressive and shows how mature she really is. Audrina is also a sweet girl just unfortunately does not have a brain in her furry head.

I think that Audrina, Heidi, & Lauren all need 2 grow up. Audrina is shady! Her & Heidi not being friends has nothing 2 do w/ Lauren, but more w/Spencer. & I 2 would be upset if my friend & roomate was friends or friendly w/someone who has done the & said the things that Heidi has done 2 Lauren. & Lauren does come off as bratty & annoying. It's been over a year since this all started & she needs 2 move on & let it go now. She was wronged we all now, but she would be a happier person & better things would happen for her is she moved on. As for Heidi you almost feel sorry for her how clueless she is. wow. I honestly can not believe anyone would take the time to write this article. These characters have no impact on anyones life but their own. The idea of being so wrapped up in the artificial drama of a few rich brats simply confuses me. Oh, and I'm seventeen years old, the target age for this program. Why can't people accept that some people choose not to have certain people in their lives?Heidi and Spencer spread a nasty rumour about Lauren, they proved themselves to be bad people. Why does Lauren need to have them in her life? She has moved on, and knows that she does not want those two involved with her in any way - which sane person would? Lauren doesn't go out of her way to belittle or bash Spencer or Heidi, and doesn't talk about them in the media. She stays away from all of that and has class. No one should judge her on the fact that she doesn't want to get involved with Heidi again. Heidi proved that she is immature and not a good friend, and Lauren sees that. She has other things to spend her time and energy on - and not waste it on a lost cause like Heidi.

Lauren is just responding based on her values:

1. Heidi, in her envy, wanted to bring her down thru those nasty and false sex tape tumors
2. Heidi if you would recall was mean to Audrina when she got jealous of her
3. Lauren stood by Audrina when Justin Bobby treated her like a doormat.

So please, leave the girl alone. She is entitled to be hurt and shut off people who do not matter.

It seems that Heidi is the only one who hasn't moved on, she continually asks about Lauren and turns up to places when she knows she will be there. Lauren has always acted maturely and been a good role model for girls out there. She respects her body and herself, she's succeeded in the fashion industry and above all maintains a classy attitude - which is a refreshing change from surgically-enhanced Heidi. As for Audrina, she is just cashing in on the fame and attention, she will befriend anyone who's in the limelight because she has no talent on her own. The only one who managed to score an MTV show was Lauren, she just unfortunately invited all these losers to be a part of it.

seriously los angeles times?? this article is a complete waste of space. i cant believe anyone would take this show seriously and even sit in front of a computer screen and bother to write about it. yes i watch it but i realize its fully fake. its been revealed that before being shown in europe that there is a warning that its not true. so why all the hype? its scripted. and seriously why dont you write about real people in the real world. its way more interesting..the script that is created is lame. these kids never do anything. go to a real fashion design school and see what ensues..its more than lauren conrad will ever discover while she receives her nonexistent degree and works at her fake job...this coming from a senior design student at a top ranking design school...who survives off coffee and whatever else. get real and discover high fashion instead of immature girls who create lines that should go straight to kmart.
