'The Hills': With friends like these ...

Audrina may not be the sharpest tool, but does she really need a “friend” like Lauren?

Lauren may get to narrate “The Hills,” but I think I speak for everyone when I say the series has turned on our fair narrator, who has reverted to a sniffling, green-eyed high schooler this season. (In fact, we’re going back to calling her by her high school nickname, LC, from now on.)

So without further ado, an open letter to LC …

LC, It’s time to move on. Heidi has. (And what kind of world are we living in when Heidi is the grown-up one?) We’re over LC vs. Heidi.

How is it fair for you, LC, to befriend Stephanie, sister of your sworn enemy Spencer, who once confronted you in a nightclub in defense of her brother, but Audrina can’t reunite with Heidi? I smell a hypocrite in these hills.

What’s worse, it seems as though everyone else around you is evolving. Heidi is Ms. Female Empowerment. Stephanie, our favorite “Hills” informant, sailed her olive branch over to you while letting Spencer crash in her apartment. Whitney matriculated from Teen Vogue (albeit to more grunt work). Brody got himself a new steady. Spencer’s giving Heidi her space (for the most part). Even Justin -- “It’s time to get my priorities straight” -- Bobby has given up the belching, started showering and has gotten a new ’do.

They all make you rather dull in your 24-hour Heidi hate. Not just dull, but downright bratty. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only viewer who threw her pillow (or, ya know, something) at her TV set when you started moaning -- “Will you kidnap me please?” “Oh my god, I need to leave this table immediately,” -- after Heidi squeezed into your table at Goa.

After Audrina caught up with Justin Bobby on a friend-date, your first question to her was “Did he burp in your face?” Not very friend-like. You followed that up with, of course, “Seems like you and Heidi are friendly again.” Yikes.

And now that Heidi has soiled your pad by hanging with Audrina in it for a few moments last week, you want to move out? Into a house? Oh sure, you say you’re bored by your West Hollywood apartment. And yes, you did get that spanking new job as model-herder for People’s Revolution. (But seriously, Mama and Papa Conrad, you're too kind.)

Why is poor Audrina in your cross hairs? Sure, you asked her to move in with you and Lo, but not before you harped all over her “dirty” boyfriends behind her back and told Lo how much fun it would be to continue doing so when you both are her roommates.

Looks like someone other than Justin Bobby needs to get their priorities straight.

At first Lauren seemed like she was the mature one out of all the girls, but as time has passed everyone else has matured and shes still stuck with the same mentallity. She seemes like a person that holds grudges although she says she doesnt.
She needs some growing up to do, because its incredible that up to this day she hasnt forgiven Heidi for the 'rumors', that was so last year! And the way she talks to Audrina for hanging out with Justin and Heidi, her tone of voice sounds like omg I cant believe you went out with them....Shes just not the person most people thought she was...

Has anyone forgotten that Heidi & Spencer went on the radio and called LC BEEF CURTAINS?? Why should she ever be friends with Heidi? Heidi is self-absorbed, shallow and gross. If Audrina wants to be friends with that fake person, then she should just be honest with everybody and say so, instead of doing it so underhanded as to try and make herself look good and make LC look bad. Everyone on this show is young, vapid and stupid and I can't help but watch the rapid decline of young Hollywood. But even after all this, I still love watching, and I don't think LC should have to be friends with someone that called her beef curtains, because that's just a rude thing to say about someone.

Maybe Lauren isn't so quick to forgive because Heidi started the SEX TAPE rumor and will not apologize for it, admit to it and is trying to rewrite history to make it look like she did nothing wrong Give me a break. Lauren is doing a ton of cool stuff; I mean, she had her own fashion show for god's sake! MTV won't show that because it wants to keep playing into the myth that Lauren is "just like us," but the girl is actually rolling in cash and achieving her goals. So, whaevs, LA Times

I'm amazed how someone would waste their time writing an article on a show like this, as if it was something real or important for everyone to know about. Of course, I'm taking time to read it because I love the show, but I don't take it as seriously since I know it's FAKE. And something i read that I didn't quite agree with was the fact that Heidi is over it and has moved on when all she ever talks about with Audrina is LAUREN. She says she's really happy to be talking to her again, but the only thing that comes out of her mouth is lauren. If I were Audrina, I would've smacked her in the head if she ever mentioned her again.

Seriously, you are making a serious error in judgement by assuming what is on the show is real. The tabloids show pictures of Heidi and Spencer every day, and obviously she is not empowered as they take "candid" photo ops. They are not giving each other space.

Furthermore, I don't understand why LC needs to be friends Heidi. Why should she be forced into a friendship with someone she doesn't like?

Also calling Lauren a 5th grader and a spoiled brat... GET OVER IT. Like alot of people have said it is a reality tv show.. they know the cameras are there and we have all heard that it is scripted. They are there for entertainment only. It is their life let them be the way they are because that is their choice.

So whoever thinks Lauren has a right to be the way she is then awesome. For those you have nothing but stupid and bad things to say about her than why are you even watching the show. Turn off the tv or computer and don't pay attention to. And also what Lauren does is none of your business since she's not going to take your opinion into account just because you have watched an episode of her show and have that opinion.

I agree with this article. I used to be a fan of the show, but I get frustrated with Lauren's friends won't tell her to mind her own business and worry about herself. I feel bad for Audrina and I was impressed with Justin-Bobby's appearance and charisma during his conversation with her the last episode. I think they all should let the show go. It's time to move on and see if they can keep themselves in the spotlight without the help of MTV.
