Larry King re-ups with CNN through 2011

06:25 PM PT, Apr 22 2008

The king of talk isn't going anywhere.

Larry_king_2Larry King has extended his contract at CNN through 2011, one of his agents, John Ferriter, said today, confirming a report on the blog TV Newser.

"He's absolutely thrilled to continue to call CNN home," said Ferriter, who did the deal with fellow William Morris agent Jim Wiatt.

A CNN spokeswoman declined to comment other than to praise King as "the best there is" and someone who will "be here for a long time."

King's new deal means that the cable news channel isn't immediately in the market for a new host for its popular 6 p.m. PT interview program. In recent weeks, reports of Katie Couric's dissatisfaction at CBS News prompted rumors that she was considering jumping to CNN as King's replacement. But a source familiar with the situation said she never was in talks with CNN for the job.

FANTASTIC!! Larry King hosts the most compelling talk show on television today. He's the best. Never judgmental. Always cordial and respectful to his guests. He's hosted some questionable characters, yet he's always totally professional. YOU GO, Larry!!!!

i like larry. BUT sometimes it should not be called "larry king live" BUT "larry king dead" when we get repeats over and over again from cnn! how in hell can a repeat show be called "live"??
