NEW YORK -- The big announcement today out of Discovery Communications' upfront presentation: Jennifer Lopez is starring in a new "docu-series" about her life for TLC.

The show, which is currently in production, will give viewers a glimpse into the lives of Lopez and her husband, singer Marc Anthony. The series follows Lopez as she balances raising her newborn twins and launching a new fragrance. The singer-actress co-created the series and serves as co-executive producer.

"I am excited to be part of the TLC family," Lopez said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together."

That's not the only power couple TLC is bringing on. Talk show host Kelly Ripa and her husband, actor Mark Consuelos, have agreed to a first-look deal with the network for unscripted shows produced by their production company. As part of the agreement, Ripa will host one of the series.

Who cares about this? What does it say when you create and produce a series about yourself and your scent? Why not devote herself to her husband and family without television cameras around? How much more money does J-Lo need? What a sad announcement and commentary on her life.

Hey I think this is great! JLo, will you also please feature all your furs? OMG you could do like a totally great expose on the fur industry, and how the animals are kept in those like totally cute little itsy bitsy cages until they are sliced and diced for your fashion pleasure. Oh wait, some of them are caught like out in the wild, by those traps that dig spikes in their legs, and like some of them even gnaw their legs off to get away. EEWWW!

You go girl! I'll be watching!

I have no idea what TLC is but I can't come up with a good reason for watching a show about J Lo, produced by J Lo -- or anybody else for that matter. She's attractive. Beyond that, what's the point?

like, how old could you possibly be if you still speak/write like this?

Well, no one is going to see her movies or lack thereof, so the small screen is the next logical step. She is not too good an actress and her popularity window is long past.
