'In Treatment': The doctor is in?
HBO's latest resident shrink, Gabriel Byrne -- also known as Paul Weston -- is likely to return for a second round of "In Treatment."
"They haven't officially called it but I think it's likely there will be a Season 2," creator Rodrigo Garcia said during an interview on Friday.
While it is true that the series has not officially been renewed, industry sources confirm that Garcia's optimism about the drama returning to the premium cable network is not unfounded. Garcia is also feeling positive about the return of the show's star, Byrne.
Based on a popular series in Israel, "B'tipul," the drama followed Paul's professional and personal life, allowing viewers to be flies-on-the-wall as Paul and four of his clients met and dealt with their issues. The second season would likely introduce new patients, with possible visits from some of the first-season cadre.
Except for Blair Underwood's Alex Prince, of course. As fans of the show sadly know, the troubled Navy pilot died shortly before the series ended.
"Alex would NEVER be back," Garcia emphasized.
