'American Idol' ends for Brooke White
Wednesday night saw a tearful end to the “American Idol” journey of singer/songwriter Brooke White.
The husky-voiced songstress broke the traditional “American Idol” mold by being the first performer in a low-key, Carly Simon-inspired vein to reach the top ranks of the competition, ultimately finishing tonight in the fifth-place spot.
Paired for elimination with Syesha Mercado, White was perhaps best known for her hyper-emotional reactions on past elimination nights. She stayed true to form, breaking into tears during her farewell song –- Neil Diamond’s “I Am... I Said” -- and retreating to the rear of the stage where she was surrounded by fellow contestants in the "Idol" crew.
Next week the final four -- David Archuleta, Jason Castro, David Cook and Mercado -- will compete in a week themed around the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Brooke went a long way in the competition. Although not a fan of her style, I respect her ability to win over so many AI votes. Hopefully she's proud of how far she's come.

At this point, it is troubling to me to see really talented young adults being eliminated before the boring wonder child. Brooke was not my favorite, but she endeared herself to me during Beatles week by performing the only tolerable version of the entire torturous evening. Her version of The Long and Winding Road was at least pleasant, which was more than I could say for the rest of that schlock
Which brings me to the question: when are we gonna see David Archuleta in the bottom? You know he has never been there even once! I am so tired of them pimping him as all that--none of the other contestants gets away with sounding the same week after week or being boring, or having no personality. He has a gift with his voice but he needs to grow so much to know what being an artist is about. He is the definition of "sounding karaoke" but no one ever calls him on it.

NOT ONLY IS BROOK WHITE A VERY TALENTED SINGER, SHE IS ALSO ONE OF THE MOST
BEAUTIFUL CONTESTANTS. SHE SHOULD GO ON TO GREATER THINGS. SHE HAS A
STYLE OF HER OWN WHICH SETS HER APART FROM THE REST. JASON CASPER SHOULD
HAVE BEEN THE PERSON TO LEAVE LAST NIGHT AND MAYBE A FEW WEEKS AGO.

I cannot believe all the hype around David Archuleta. He has the same tone nomatter what song he sings. Lets stop supporting him and let the people that can sing continue.Come on Randy take your ear plugs out!!!
