After David Archuleta’s chilling rendition of “Imagine,” Paula told him, “I wanna just squish you, squeeze your head off and dangle you from my rearview mirror.” While you can’t dangle David from your rearview mirror (yet), at least now you can keep him in your pocket! On Wednesday morning, videos of “American Idol” performances will be available on iTunes, where fans can download them to watch on their iPods.

Musical performances will cost 99 cents, and video performances will be $1.99. Hard-core “Idol” junkies can even preorder their favorite contestant’s performances so that they automatically download after the show.

“We think ‘American Idol’ viewers are going to love the ability to purchase and download ‘Idol’ performances from iTunes,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes. And Cue is right, because for a true fan, too much “Idol” is never enough.
