NBC News' Matt Lauer will host a "Dateline NBC" special on Sunday, leading up to the now-scaled-back version of the 65th annual Golden Globes. The announcement gives no hint of the turmoil that led up to the newly revamped schedule. Strike? What strike?

"Leading up to the announcement of the 65th Annual Golden Globes winners, nominees James McAvoy, Sally Field, Ellen Page, Amy Adams, Kyra Sedgwick, William Shatner, Nikki Blonsky, Patricia Arquette among others will sit down for one-on-one interviews with NBC News correspondents in "Going for Gold," a special hosted by NBC News' Matt Lauer. The "Dateline NBC" special presentation, airing on Sunday, Jan. 13 (7:00-9:00 p.m., ET) also includes commentary by comedian Kathy Griffin, and NBC's "Football Night in America" team predicts the night's winners."

The irony does not escape me-the Show Tracker blog's sidebar adverts for Golden Globe nominated films. (sigh) If my husband were not an out of work grip, I would laugh. Or at least chuckle.
