Maybe controversy is his middle name

Who knew Steve Carell was so controversial?
News that the writer-actor-producer honored the picket line outside "The Office" and essentially shut down production of NBC's popular comedy has led to a dust-up among readers weighing in on the writers strike. Boiled down, it's the "writers are highly paid crybabys" against the "studios are greedy pigs." Share your thoughts here.

Regardless of how highly the writers are paid, or how much money the studio executives are hoarding, the fact of the matter is that at this point in the 21st century, "new media" as it's callied is far from unproved and risky, and if it was, a residual percentage wouldn't matter.
Writers, or any creators for that matter, have a right to receive profits from money made from their creations. If internet videos, et. al. are that unproven, then why do the studios care if the writers are given a percentage?
Insane.
