‘Keep hope alive’

At 20th Century Fox, thousands turned out. The strikers shut down Avenue of the Stars. They cheered as rock guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine played on a rolling stage. The Rev. Jesse Jackson told the screaming crowd: ‘You will not go back.... Keep hope alive. Don’t surrender.’

For the Record: An earlier version of this posting said the rock band Rage Against the Machine performed for the crowd. The only band members who performed were guitarist Tom Morello and lead singer Zach de la Rocha.
