Truckers get on board

NEW YORK -- A double-decker New York tour bus passed by the picket line. The operator, using his microphone, said to the striking writers, "Good luck to you!" He wore a blue cap that identified himself as a Transport Workers Union member.

Trucks driving by also honked in solidarity.

One tourist, though, had a quibble with the protest. "They've gotta come up with some good slogans," said a man as he walked past. "It's too quiet!"

More news on the strike
