A time to 'stick together'
NEW YORK -- "Saturday Night Live" cast member Amy Poehler joined a large contingency of writers and actors from the show on the picket line.
"We're very disappointed," she said. "Everyone here wants to be working. All the writers are asking for is to be fairly compensated for all this new media. I think anyone who works for a corporation can understand that."
If it wasn't for the strike, the "SNL" cast and writers would be spending today pitching skits for next week's episode, which is supposed to feature The Rock as host. But unless the strike is resolved, there will be no show.
Poehler -- who like many cast members contributes material for the program even though she's not listed as a writer -- said actors feel torn about what to do about the strike.
"I think a lot of actors are being made to make some really hard choices," she said. "Fortunately, I can come out and support the people that I work with. It's an important time for people to stick together."
