At Warner, the number of picketers grew past 70 before they got marching orders and split up to hit the sidewalks near the lot entrances. Among the non-guild members who showed up to lend support was actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who was stationed a few yards away from a two-story banner promoting her show, "The New Adventures of Old Christine." "I want to show solidarity," she said. "How this is resolved is going to affect the actors' guild."

SAG General Counsel Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said many more actors were on the lines at four sites where the writers had asked for help.

More news on the strike
