Kira Plastinina's KP Fashion files for bankruptcy

January 2, 2009 | 11:40 am

Los Angeles-based KP Fashion Co., the company set up by the father of 16-year-old Russian fashion designer Kira Plastinina to sell her clothes in the U.S., has filed for bankruptcy, Bloomberg News is reporting.

The company had 12 U.S. stores, six in the L.A. area: Beverly Center, Americana at Brand, Beverly Drive, Robertson Ave., Third Street Promenade and Shoppingtown Topanga.

The company’s U.S. website shows most clothes at a 75% discount. A shiny black, quilted lacquer miniskirt that originally sold for $54 is going for $13.50. The company offered jeans, T-shirts, dresses, pants, shoes and accessories.

We'll have another update later today.
