Russ Parsons in Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America

June 9, 2008 |  4:48 pm

Associate Editor Leo Wolinsky announces the award in a memo to staff:

Food columnist Russ Parsons has won yet another important award for his work as a food writer.

On Sunday, he was named as one of six culinary professionals to be included in the James Beard Foundation’s prestigious Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America.  The list includes 201 chefs, cookbook authors, journalists, restaurateurs and other professionals considered to be the tops in their respective areas.  Former Los Angeles Times staffers Ruth Reichl and Colman Andrews are among other past inductees.

Russ has been a journalist for 30 years and a member of the Times food staff for the last 20. The author of two cookbooks, Russ previously won awards from the International Association of Culinary Professionals, the Association of Food Journalists, the James Beard Foundation and the University of Missouri.

Please join me in congratulating Russ.
