Coming up in Crawford, and beyond ...
President Bush is still at the ranch.
With the exception of last Wednesday, when he spoke to the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Orlando, and then visited New Orleans and Gulfport, Miss., he's been there since Aug. 15.

It's called summer vacation -- the final extended summer visit to Crawford of his presidency.
The president has two events on his public schedule in the days after he returns to Washington:
A meeting Friday at the White House with President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of Tanzania, with whom the president got along seemingly smashingly during a visit to the East African nation last February, and an evening with the U.S. Marine Corps at the Marine Barracks' Evening Parade, a ritual familiar in the Capitol Hill neighborhood for its booming martial music.
