Head's up.

President Bush will hold a news conference in the White House briefing room at 10:20 a.m. EDT. The White House announced the session this morning.

Likely topics include the trouble in the housing and credit markets, and new reports of potential pullouts from Iraq -- with the leaked reports coming as the presidential election campaign heats up. Efforts to control Iran's and North Korea's nuclear programs are also likely topics.

The news conference comes at a time when Bush has kept a fairly low profile, returning from the Group of 8 summit in Japan last Wednesday and then heading for the weekend to Camp David.
