Where's Bob, part 2

"It's the civil rights issue of our generation. It's the biggest thing we can do. It's part of who I am." - former California Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg in The Independent this weekend, about fighting global warming.

Hertzberg_2 Hertzberg, described as a confidante of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, gets the royal treatment from the U.K. newspaper for his venture to sell solar panels in dreary Wales. The device, he says, work in the rain and can be placed on clothing to power computers, iPods and other electronic devices. A company being financed by Hertzberg and investors, G24i, is expected to start production of the solar cells within two months.

The newspaper says Hertzberg's political background - he ran for mayor of Los Angeles in 2005, finishing in third place - comes in handy in an industry where different interest groups vie for influence. 'You have to hold your noses and have inspiration, and walk home knowing you have done some good,' he said.
