Paris Hilton signature update

ParishiltonDaniel Edwards' "Paris Hilton Autopsy" sits on display during the press preview at the Capla Kesting Fine Art gallery Wednesday in New York. The sculpture will be on exhibit to the public May 11 through May 30 at the gallery in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Here is an update on the two signature drives asking Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to either pardon Paris Hilton for her most recent traffic violation, or ignore the request. The governor's office says it would consider any pardon request, which has not arrived, but that any action nevertheless would be under extraordinary circumstances. (That's a "no.")

Free Paris Hilton signatures so far: 15,736. "Paris Whitney Hilton is an American celebrity and socialite. She is an heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate fortune of her father Richard Hilton. She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives."

Jail Paris Hilton signatures so far: 26,481. "For as long as she has been in the public spotlight, Paris Hilton has knowingly and willingly broken the law, and her actions have gotten more and more brazen over the last few years. Her actions indicate that she feels the law doesn't apply to her as she has repeatedly flaunted the law in full view of witnesses, often paparazzi and camera crews."
