Spitzer's Assembly Seat Draws Another Hopeful

Map_2 Irvine City Councilman Steven Choi, a Republican, announced his candidacy today for the 71st district seat currently held by termed-out Assemblyman Todd Spitzer. He joins Riverside County Republican chairman Jeff Miller, Rancho Santa Margarita councilman Neal Blaise, and Mission Viejo councilman John Paul Ledesma for the Republican-leaning seat.

Choi is a former member of the Irvine Unified School District Board of Trustees and was elected to the Irvine City Council in 2004. Choi serves on the Great Park Corporation board, the Irvine Redevelopment Agency and the Orange County Sanitation District board. He is a member of the Orange County Republican Party Central Committee. OC Blog.
