Robert Salladay has covered California governors and state politics for 10 years. He has worked for the Oakland Tribune, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Capitol bureaus of the S.F. Chronicle and L.A. Times. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley in history and Northwestern University in journalism. He covered the election of Gray Davis (twice), the 2000 Florida presidential recount, the 2003 recall and the Schwarzenegger administration. A native of Sacramento, he has lived in San Francisco, Oakland, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Chesapeake, Va.
