State of California Is a Slumlord

The O.C. Register has an incredible investigative report about Caltrans turning into one of the state's worst slumlords — "owning over time hundreds of abandoned homes and businesses that have served as temporary drug dens, crash pads for teenage vandals, community dumps and homeless encampments."

"Road to Nowhere" shows how the state has purchased land it didn't need, then abandoned the properties to disrepair.
