With one healthy leg, Danny Way still trying to skate

July 31, 2009 |  5:27 pm

Danny Way was on crutches yesterday, and has spent most of today limping, but he's still competing -- or at least trying to.

Way, from San Diego, is currently in the Skateboard Big Air Rail Jam and fell on his second attempt after landing on the quarter pipe, seeming to hurt his ankle. He limped off, got back up and is still taking runs. He is one of six riders competing in the Rail Jam, which is a 30-minute session in which each rider will clear a 50-foot gap and hit a 20-foot rail. Best trick wins.
