Sarah Palin falls under video attack by Ashley Judd over aerial hunt program

In case you missed it, below is a video in which actress Ashley Judd blasts Sarah Palin for her support of the aerial hunting of wolves in Alaska.

It's the first major attack on Alaska's governor regarding this issue since Palin was a candidate for vice president --and it's just as vicious as previous attacks, with Judd, on behalf of the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, urging Palin to "stop the senseless savagery."

Allowing Alaskans to run down and shoot wolves from the airplanes or helicopters is certainly inhumane, but the program, which Palin supports, is considered a necessary means of predator control. Unlike previous attacks, though, this one seems aimed squarely at Palin.

In a statement from her office, Palin fired back. "It is reprehensible and hypocritical that the Defenders of Wildlife would use Alaska and my administration as a fund-raising tool to deceive Americans into parting with their hard-earned money," she said.

For the record, Alaska's wolves and and bears are "intensively managed" in six zones where moose and caribou populations are deemed dangerously low. Enjoy the video...

I've known about his brutal practice for years and was horrified when McCain nominated Palin as his running mate. I've researched this issue inside and out and do not find sound science behind it. I found greed and money to be the motivating factor behind this slaughter. The native Inuit have lived with the wolves and bears before we invaded Alaska with our rich sports hunters and didn't need preadator management control. The population of moose and caribou is negatively impacted by rich sport hunters, not wolves who take down a few old, weak and injured animals. Just look on the walls of these sports hunters and you will see what types of moose and caribou they kill. People who really hunt for food aren't that discriminating.

The attack on Palin is nothing but a political and financial scam by down south self righteous people who don't have a clue of what life is like in rural Alaska. First off Palin has no direct control over the predator control program. Like all wildlife decisions, they are handled by the board of Fish and Game (Alaska has the best managed fish and wildlife in the world, bar none). This program is designed to keep moose populations up in regions of the state which border on third world conditions. These people rely on wild game to survive.. a concept which escapes most lower 48'ers, and most urban Alaskans. The reason that vote goes against the predator program is because the majority of voters live in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.. so it becomes a disproportionate vote of urban vs. the bush, and the people in the bush usually lose to the urban power. So to the people who are against this predator control why are wolves more important than people who live not just without running water, but that live in villages without sewer and clean drinking water. You want to do something.. then help the people and there wouldn't be a need for killing wolves.

I don't hunt from helicopters. I don't think it's a good idea. But I don't have wolves in my backyard, either. My children and pets are safe when they go out and play in the snow. My views might change if they were attacked, or threatened, by wolves. And as Governor Palin pointed out, Ms Judd's video is a fundraiser. They used Gov Palin's name only because of name recognition and the emotional response from liberals that comes with it. (This fundraiser is not directed at environmental conservationists or conservatives) You wouldn't have heard her name two years ago - she would have been referred to as "The Governor of Alaska".

1. on thanksgiving we utilize the turkey. we don't shoot it and let it die for shits and giggles. foolish is what that statement is.
2. where does abortion play a role in any of this. i get it, abortion is not supported by many, but this is not an issue about babies. my advice would be to blog your feelings out where it is a topic.
3. she is doing this because she is capable of getting something like this spread out. if you want to bitch about a celebrity doing/not doing something with their status, do it to someone who deserves it like, paris hilton, who does nothing with her fame.

Palin wants to save the prey species so they can be killed by "sportsman" hunters. The problem with human predators, at least the modern version, is that the "sportsmen" go after the best of the best, the trophy kill. Most of them don't even eat or use what they kill. By taking the best of the best, weaker animals are mating and passing on inferior genes, which in turn, weakens the species.

Wolves and other predators take what they can get, which is the young, the old, the sick or injured, thus strenghtening the species herd. Palin is a sick human being and anyone who supports this perversion of humanity is as sick as she is.

Palin is also a Young Earth Creationist, which shows her complete lack of education and experiance.

If you have to use helicopters and airplanes to kill a predetor running in the snow, how can this predetor be a danger to a huge population of caribu that
migrate in the millions. No self respecting sportsmen would do such a thing to a creature that very few people get to see in their habitat. WE have laws in my state that prevents people from hunting dear from their cars.
