Mammoth Mountain gets nearly five feet of snow over the weekend

Mammoth Mountain photo taken Monday.
It's looking as if winter has come to Mammoth Mountain, which received nearly five feet of fresh snow at Main Lodge when a massive winter storm moved through last weekend.  After unseasonably warm temperatures thus far this month, this is just what was hoped for.

With a 7- to 10-foot base of powder, packed powder and machine groomed snow, all chairlifts are reported open Monday afternoon; 66 runs were groomed Sunday night, making 548 acres available. Also, all seven of Mammoth's Unbound Terrain Parks are open.

The weather forecast for the week is clear, cool and sunny, which should make for fantastic conditions.
