Yosemite's Tioga Pass closes for season; Badger Pass Ski Area may open Friday
A sure sign that wintry weather has arrived: Tioga Road, which is a continuation of California Highway 120 inside Yosemite National Park, has been closed for the season because of heavy snow and ice.
Additionally, Glacier Point Road from Badger Pass to Glacier Point is closed for the season, Yosemite officials announced in a news release, adding that Glacier Point Road from Chinquapin to Badger Pass "is open to administrative traffic only and will reopen when Badger Pass Ski Area opens for the season."
The ski area, which got a foot of snow in Monday's storm and is expecting much more through Wednesday, is scheduled to open Friday. Yosemite National Park is open year-round, but motorists must carry chains during the winter months.

Good. Yosemite recovers a little in winter, from the human onslaught the other 10 months of the year.
