Sierra Club's Camera Committee auction to feature glorious imagery
The above image, captured by Steve Anderson and entitled "Dusy Basin Sunset," is among many beautiful photographs that will be sold during the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club's fundraising auction Saturday evening at the Felicia Mahood Center in Santa Monica.
The center is located at 11338 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Los Angeles. The exhibit opens at 5 p.m. and bidding begins at 6:30. Admission is free.
Nature photos, portraits and abstract photos will be sold and members of the club's Camera Committee and other photographers popular among the art community will be on hand.
The works typically sell for substantially less than the same images would in a gallery.
Among them is a donated image by Camille Seaman, entitled "The Last Iceberg," which was held at the National Academy of Sciences.
The image below is by Dan Gee and entitled "Ponkapoag Pond." For a preview of the auction catalog click here.
