Fun facts about tonight's finals
Here are some of the tid bits provided by the kind people at the WWL:
Skateboard big air:
-- The big air ramp is suspended from the Staples Center ceiling with a roll-in of 80 feet.
-- This is the first time an X Games big air event will be held indoors.
-- The ramp took five days, 60,000 nails, 15,000 screws and 33 people to build.
-- The ramp includes 60,000 pounds of metal (or so they claim).
- -The lower drop-in is 50 feet high and the higher one is 62 feet above the surface.
-- The gap is 70 feet 2 inches from the first launch and 50 feet 9 inches from the second one.
-- The quarterpipe is 27 feet 3 inches tall.
-- From the drop-in to coping with the quarterpipe, the athletes will travel 293 feet.
Moto X best trick:
-- They are using 600 cubic yards of dirt.
-- It took 55 loads in dump truck to transport the dirt into the arena.
