Evan Lysacek, Mirai Nagasu to be honored in public ceremony

Olympic figure skaters Evan Lysacek and Mirai Nagasu and their coaches will be honored during a ceremony Tuesday at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

The reception is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., featuring presentations by city officials and a question-and-answer session with the skaters and their coaches.

The event is open to the public. Seats will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5:30 p.m. [Updated at 12:26 p.m.: The event is free to the public.]

Lysacek won the men’s figure-skating gold medal at the Vancouver Games, and Nagasu finished fourth in women’s figure skating. Both skaters trained for the Olympics at the Toyota Sports Center.
