Switzerland's Simon Ammann wins first gold medal of 2010 Winter Olympics

Switzerland's Simon Ammann won the first gold medal of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Saturday in the normal hill ski jumping, finishing with a final score of 276.5 points after his two jumps.

Poland's Adam Malysz won the silver medal with 269.5 points, and Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer won the bronze medal with 268 points.

No Americans advanced past the first round.

Simon Amman last jump was incredible! It was almost to long... could have been dangerous for him.
