Ryan Getzlaf’s four-point performance Sunday evidently persuaded executives of the Canadian Olympic hockey team that he has recovered from his sprained left ankle and should keep his roster spot.

The Ducks’ center was included on the roster submitted by Team Canada to the Olympic tournament’s directorate hours before the noon deadline. Getzlaf was injured last Monday and didn’t play again until Sunday at Edmonton, where Team Canada sent Doug Armstrong to scout him. Hockey Canada confirmed the report.

Armstrong’s report was positive enough for Getzlaf to remain on the roster -- and for Jeff Carter, who had been told to travel to Vancouver and be on standby to replace Getzlaf, to be sent home.
