Katherine Reutter sets Olympic record in short-track speedskating

Katherine Reutter of Champaign, Ill. won her quarterfinal in the women’s 500 meters with an Olympic-record time of 43.834 seconds in short-track speedskating at the Pacific Coliseum.

Alyson Dudek of Hales Corners, Wis., was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The semifinals and finals will be held later today.
