OK, so maybe there are some great things in Vancouver for under 20 bucks after all. There’s the free zip line in Robson Square (Robson and Howe), run by Ziptrek, an outfit from Whistler that has set up a 550-foot course between two temporary towers. Expect long lines. Expect your stomach to be in your shoes.

“There’s all sort of fun stuff you can do, depending on your pivot point,” one of the guides says.

How about popping off a move called the “pulsating starfish”? There’s also the “dying turtle,” which is what happens when you turn upside down and flail with your arms and legs.

Sounds more daring than it is though. Obviously, they strap you up like Hannibal Lecter. You take four steps down, sit down into the harness and away you go. Newton does the rest.

It’s a blast and it’s free, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, till Feb. 28.
