Apolo Anton Ohno of the U.S. won the bronze medal in men's 1,000-meter short-track speedskating Saturday, becoming the most decorated American in Winter Olympics history. It was Ohno's seventh medal. Lee Jung-Su of South Korea won the gold, Lee Ho-Suk of South Korea won the silver.

Ohno also:

-- is the sixth short-track speedskater to win medals at three Winter Olympics;

-- is tied for 15th on the career Winter Olympics medals list;

-- is tied for seventh in career Winter Olympics medals by men.

and another interesting Olympics story is spoiled because NBC refuses to broadcast live Olympic coverage on the west coast ...in NBC's wisdom, no one would want to watch live Olympics on a Saturday afternoon instead, we would rather wait until midnight to watch a delayed broadcast after we know the outcome...thanks for nothing NBC...

You're doing it wrong NBC.

After the whole Leno vs. Conan debacle this surprises you how?

Once you learn the medal result from online news source, there's little incentive to stay up late to watch the tape delayed broadcast, especially if Americans failed to qualify or earn at least a bronze. It's a potential ratings killer. How many more viewers would have watched Shaun White winning the gold if it was live?

Many Eurpoeans and Asians will NEVER forgive their stations if they tape delayed the world cup. Ditto for their national newspapers spoling the result. They'll gladly stay up till 5:00 AM to watch it. Barring that kind of commitment from the American public, NBC will pull stunts like this to protect their ratings.

Ohno is the most mediocre athlete to be celebrated by the US media. He doesn't dominate his sport. When he wins, often its because he is lucky to remain standing when the people in front of him fell. So he got another bronze... big deal.

Apolo Ohno is a the most hottest and sexiest of all athletes in the USA. God, I love him as he is welcome anytime in bed with me and drinking a case of beer!
