Usain bolts for third Olympic gold in 400-meter relay

7:29 AM, August 22, 2008

Usain Bolt celebrates winning his third gold medal after the men's 400-meter relay final at the Beijing Games on Friday.

Usain Bolt on Friday got his third gold medal and third world record of the meet by running the third leg for a Jamaican relay team that crushed the old 400-meter relay record held by the United States.

Jamaica clocked 37.10, besting the record of 37.40 set by the U.S. relay team at the 1992 Olympics and equaled by a U.S. relay team at the 1993 world championships.

The Jamaica quartet was Nesta Carter, Michael Frater, Bolt and Asafa Powell.

The U.S. did not make the final, having botched an exchange in the heats.

From Mobile, Alabama Gulf Coast>>>>>>>>>>>>USAIN BOLTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Such a joy to see him compete. Surely the athlete of the 2008 Olympics who will be remembered as a hero and role model for the youth.

Jamaica, Jamaica. U have the world lock inna track and field and unu nuh see nuting yet. Wait till the next Olympics. !!!!

Why is nothing being made of the lane violation that should have been called on the Jamaicans? Prior to the second exchange, Frater to Bolt, Frater clearly steps outside of his lane...multiple times! I think that it is a shame that they get the gold and the WR when they should have received a dq!

I thought one only gets dq'ed if he/she steps INSIDE the lane?
