Diane Pucin, who's been blogging live from the noisy Capital Gymnasium in Beijing, reports that the Americans hung tough Wednesday night and won in five sets, 20-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 15-12, over Serbia. Here's a link to her report.

With the win, the U.S. advances to the Olympic semifinals, where they will play Russia.

I would like someone to mention to the US Men's Volleyball team... STOP touching each others BUTTS! It's really groos... it's not just patting for goodluck.. it's an excuse to caress each others cracks... Even my 10 year old has commented how it makes HER uncomfortable and SHE doesn't know anything from anything.. It's embarrassing and I will stop watching but keep blogging about it..

To the poster below me, Molly454. GET OVER IT. its competitive sports, and thats what most men do. it has nothing to do with sexuality, it is a sign of respect for a team mate and shows congratulations. Dont complain to everyone on here about what you and your daughter think is inappropriate. If you think so, DONT WATCH IT. dont speak about things that you have no knowledge about.

Molly, that is possibly the most ridiculous post I've seen yet. "Caressing?" Please. Arms around shoulders, slapping hands, and yes slapping someone's butt are all part of firing the team up and a way of saying "great job." Since it happens in pretty much every team sport, male and female, you'll probably have to just stop watching all sports. Not to be overly picky, but I can't help it: "groos?" Spellcheck, sister!
