Boxers qualify for the 11 weight categories in regional tournaments. Currently, only men box in the Olympics.

Scoring the bout
When a boxer lands a punch, at least three of the five match judges must press a corresponding button for that boxer within a second of one another for a point to be awarded.

The bout
The match consists of four two-minute rounds, with one minute between each round. Boxers must weigh in and undergo a medical exam before each fight. Offensive punches are only allowed “above the belt” and delivered with the white part of the glove.
