Beach volleyball: Misty May-Treanor, Kerri Walsh win again

BEIJING -- Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are at 103 and counting, having extended their beach volleyball winning streak with a 21-15, 21-16 victory Tuesday over Cuba's Dalixia Fernandez Grasset and Tamara Larrea.

In improving to 2-0 in the Olympic tournament, the defending champions have had little drama in competition. Their drama came during the first match when Walsh lost her wedding ring in the sand.

Chinese volunteers found it after a long search with metal detectors and security wands.

Walsh, who is married to pro beach volleyball player Casey Jennings, wore the ring Tuesday, with a bandage over it to keep it in place.

"I didn't know I was superstitious about it until I lost it,'' she said.

She had already called her husband back home in Southern California and asked him to bring a duplicate when he comes to Beijing later this week.
